It all started with a dream to make the best whisky in the world here in Australia

When serial entrepreneur Mark Coburn declared to his family that he would drink 20 year old Coburns Whisky on his 70th birthday, they knew if anyone could make it happen it would be him.

By his 49th birthday, Mark knew he needed to get spirit into the barrel to meet his audacious goal.

What followed was the building of Station Lane Distillery in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

Today we have over 300,000 litres of whisky spirit aging in over 1300 barrels.

In the heart of the Southern Highlands, The Distillery stands where craft, tradition and modernity converge.

Perched 770 metres above sea level and built upon Australia’s largest peat bog, its location is as remarkable as the spirit it nurtures.

In the 11th century, travelling monks from Europe introduced the art of distillation into Scotland by fermenting grain. The first mention of the name Whisky is in 1494 and the first documented distillery is in 1608.
